Maolin National Scenic Area

Spanning Taoyuan, Luigui, and Maolin districts, with tall mountains and valleys, meandering rivers, waterfalls, ravines, and hot springs deep within the Central Mountain Range, and also a traditional home to the Bunun and Rukai tribes of Indigenous Taiwanese- the Maolin National Scenic Area has rich natural resources and a world-class valley in which butterflies overwinter, which attract tourists to explore the greenery. There are slate houses, a drawbridge, cultural ceremonies and unique cuisine at the indigenous villages, which are a Mecca for tourists who want to experience aboriginal customs.
